Hey, I’m Isaac
I believe in planning cities as one would tend to a garden. Each generation of gardeners—planners, community leaders, and residents—brings unique experiences, skills, and visions. Together, we cultivate growth, navigating the ups and downs to create cities truly worth living in. Our role as planners and public managers is to support this organic growth, ensuring that our communities’ roots are strong and well-nourished.
Today, in support of this vision, I work in a multi-faceted role at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) in Toronto, Ontario. CTBUH’s mission of advancing sustainable urbanism through vertical density aligns perfectly with my approach to community-building. By focusing on tall buildings and dense urban environments, we strive to create inclusive, vibrant spaces that intensify land use efficiency without compromising social and economic vitality.
Cities are more than just points on a map; they’re dynamic, living organisms and the driving force behind economic, social, and environmental progress. My vision, shared with many fellow urban planners and policymakers, is to make these urban centres inclusive, diverse, sustainable, and resilient by creating the space for organic city-building to occur.
Let’s work together!
